Died 6:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 1992, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 79, a native of Donaldsonville and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired Exxon Co. USA employee. Visiting at St. Joseph Cathedral, 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Frank Uter and the Rev. Marvin Collins. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by wife, Mildred Davis Alonzo, Baton Rouge; a son and daughter-in-law, Allen andTootie G. Alonzo, Baton Rouge; two sisters, Mrs. Linas (Pearl) Sanchez and Mrs. Ross (Eunah) Patureau, both of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Darron Alonzo, Walker, and L.J. Alonzo, Greenwell Springs; three grandchildren, Mrs. Fred (Karen) Blanche III, BatonRouge, Mrs. Denis (Kathi) Barry, Mandeville, and Kevin J. Lasseigne, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Sterling and Lauren Allison Blanche and D.J. and Virginia Blair Barry. Preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Alonzo; twosisters, Nellie Rivet and Ella Higginbotham; and two brothers, Edward Joseph Alonzo and Mack Alonzo Sr. Pallbearers will be Oron Rivet Jr., Terry Lockwood, Cyril Sharp, Gary Wayne Alonzo, Darron Sanchez, Michael Patureau, Barry and Robin Alonzo. He was amember of St. Joseph Cathedral and Fleur de Leis Exxon Annuity Club.
