Randolph Sharpe Truitt Sr. the son of Reuben Truitt and Cora Ann Truitt was born on July 11, 1915 in Rockingham County, NC. He went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. He died at the age of 99. He served in the Army in World War II in Germany and was awarded 3 bronze stars. He was very proud of his military service. He opened Truitt's Gulf in Orange Park, FL in 1957 and retired in 1979. Upon retirement he traveled with his wife around the United States and Canada. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Alva of 50 years; brothers Reuben, Carlyle, George, and Johnny; sisters Anna Lee Friedman and Virginia Truitt. He is survived by sisters Arlene Brown and Louise Ramsey; sons Randolph (Debbie), Howard (Jan), and Gary (Carol); daughters Linda (Nick), Joy, and Sandy; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 5, 2015, 2:00 PM in the chapel of Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL. Family and friends will visit from 1 until 2 PM prior to the service.
