Bee was the daughter of John and Minerva (Ellickson) Egre. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1938 and started working for Wisconsin Power and Light Company as a clerk in the Cambridge offices. In March of 1941, she began working as the secretary to the Manager of the Wisconsin Power and Light Company office in Janesville. She retired in October of 1978. She married Karl A. Samek on August 11, 1951. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Elks Ladies. After retiring, Bee and Karl spent many winters in Florida, and enjoyed trips to Norway, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and Alaska. She is survived by a brother, four sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
