Daughter of Henry Chubb and Nancy Miller Chubb. She was born in Halifax Township near the village of Matamoras, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, United States where her family was living at the time of the 1850 Census.

She married Elias Huff about 1856 in Matamoras. The were living in Kidder Township, Carbon, Pennsylvania, United States at the time of the 1870 and 1880 census, but they returned to Dauphin County before Elias married his second wife. It is not certain whether Catherine died in Kidder Township, Carbon County or Harrisburg, Dauphin County, but she certainly died in Pennsylvania sometime between the 1880 census and the marriage of her widowed husband to his second wife, Emma Jane Taylor on 26 December 1888 in Harrisburg.
