Son of Swedish immigrants. His parents met as teenagers in the Utah Territory and eloped on December 8, 1867. He was born while his father was on the first of his two LDS missions to Sweden.

He was the seventh of his parents' nine children, and he was the 13th of his father's 21 children.

At the time of his mother's death in 1912 and his father's death in 1917, he was separated from his first wife and two children, and he was living with his eldest sister's family and working on their Henrie family ranch.

As an adult, he had five full siblings
-Mary C.J. Henrie
-James Sanders Yorgason
-Nora Morgan
-Joseph S.A. Yorgason
-Ernest Alonzo Yorgason

and he also had four known half-siblings
-John William Yorgason aka Johnson
-Orson LeRoy Yorgason
-Hiram Vincent Yorgason
-Charles Edward Yorgason

After the death of his father, he married a second time, but that turned out badly. His next marriage was a very brief nightmare for his unsuspecting third wife. His fourth marriage, which involved several real estate transactions, lasted only two years.

His former wives included:

-Mary Luella Larsen (married October 9, 1904 at Otto, Wyoming; separated between 1907 and 1910)
-Elsie Rosenthal (married January 14, 1918 at Richfield, Utah; married 4 1/2 years, until her death)
-Lena Clark Robinson (married October 9, 1928 at Redwood City, California; she filed for divorce after two months)
-Nettie Cooper Halsted (married October 20, 1930 at Oakland, California; separated in late 1932)
-Elma Elvera "Vera" Sallmen (married May 1, 1935 at Oakland, California)

-----

He died on the highway just outside of Manderson, Wyoming. His vehicle was stopped on the highway, and he was standing near it when he was struck by another vehicle. He sustained fatal head injuries.

His fifth wife Vera was with him at the time. He and Vera were together for over 20 years, longer than all his other marriages put together. They met when she was a teenager, and were married May 1, 1935. By 1940, they had moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to a sheep ranch in Emblem, Wyoming.

His widow Vera eventually ended up in Arizona, and then in North Carolina, where she died at the age of 89.

He was survived by one of his two sons, and he was the grandfather of four: three grandsons, and a granddaughter. Three of his grandchildren were born in the San Francisco Bay Area, and one grandson was born in Texas.

As of June 2018, his known living descendants include three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
