Lawrence H. Hoersten
Lawrence H. Hoersten, 85, Ottawa, died at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 1999, at Calvary Manor Nursing Home, Glandorf.

He was a born September 28, 1913, in 0ttoville, to Joseph and Anna (Beining) Hoersten. On April 24, 1945, he married Donelda Deck and she survives in Ottawa.

Other survivors include one son, Dennis Hoersten, Ottawa: two daughters, Shirley Hoersten, Ottawa and Dolores (William) Shumaker, Elida: six grandchildren: two brothers, Anthony (Bernadine) Hoersten and Clarence (Rita) Hoersten, both of Ottoville; and four sisters, Barbara Schneider and Julie Hemker, both of Ottoville, Victoria (Herman) Luersman, Ft. Jennings, and Clara Ann (Herbert) Gerdeman, Delphos.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Felix, Vincent and Hugo Hoersten; two sisters, Matilda Herman and Elizabeth Wegesin; two half-brothers, Joseph and Edward Hoersten: and one half-sister, Marie Ellerbrock.

Mr. Hoersten retired as a maintenance man at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, Ottawa, and was also a retired farmer.

He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. Father Tom Hemm officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Love Funeral Home, Ottawa.
