She was born March 26, 1918, in Ottoville to Joseph and Anna Beining Hoersten, who preceded her in death. In November 1945, she married Elmer E. Schneider, who died May 26, 1992.
Mrs. Schneider had been a meat cutter at Miller's Market and Village Market in Ottoville. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its Altar Rosary Society. She was an avid walker and enjoyed drawing.
Survivors include three sons, John (Pat) Schneider, of Ottoville, Paul (Mary Jane) Schneider, of Findlay, and Richard (Patty) Schneider, of Ottoville; a daughter, Joyce (Mike) Cross, of Van Wert; 11 grandchildren, Gary (Jeni) Cross, Jennifer (Chuck) Rollens, Suzanne (Jon) Grimes, Bob (Kim) Hohlbein, Donna (Doug) German, Mike (Jill) Hohlbein, Kelly (Terry) Kemper, Theresa (Steve) Killian, Kristen (Brad) Mullenkamp, Lindsay (Aaron) Wurst and Richard S. Schneider; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Julie Hemker, of Ottoville, and Clarann (Herb) Gerdeman, of Delphos; and two sisters-in-law, Bernadine Hoersten, of Delphos, and Rita Hoersten, of Ottoville.
She was preceded in death by nine brothers, Joseph, Edward, Felix, Lawrence, Vince, Anthony, Hugo and Clarence Hoersten and Isadore Hilvers; and four sisters, Marie Ellerbrock, Mathilda Herman, Elizabeth Wegesin and Victoria Luersman.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Father John Stites will officiate
