JOHN A. YUNGWIRTH ACTIVE IN CITY CHURCH ACTIVITIES
John A. Yungwirth, 72, of 303 Maple Ave., died at 12:30 a.m. today at St. Agnes Hospital.
Born July 3, 1894, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Theresa Mitchell Yungwirth, he was married to the former Veronica Mayer, who preceded him in death on Aug. 11, 1960.
He was a supervisory foreman at Giddings & Lewis Machine Tool Co. until his retirement in 1953. He was a member of St. Mary’s Holy Name Society, the G & L Staff Club and was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include four sons, Jerome of Fond du Lac, Gregory J. of Syracuse, N.Y., John A. Jr. of Kansas City, Kan., and Thomas of Green Bay; five daughters, Mrs. Harold Bond, Mrs. Alfred Weber and Mrs. Philip Pilkenton, all of Fond du Lac, Mrs. Delbert Thompson of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Mrs. Janet Youngwirth of Madison; one sister, Mrs. Clarence Vaughn of Marshalltown; one brother, William of Marshalltown, and 27 grandchildren.
One son preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. from St. Mary’s Church, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry A. Maurer officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday.

Funeral services for John A. Youngwirth, who died Saturday, were held at 9:30 a.m. today at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry A. Maurer officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Peter Weyer, George Deitte, George Anders, Stephen Sabel, Henry Dreifuerst and George Nichols, members of the Holy Name Society. Rev. Raymond L. Fox was seated in the sanctuary. Knights of Columbus honorary pallbearers included Ed Kelroy, Ed Lingenfelter, Steve McNamara, John Tynan, Al Vogels and Harold Flood.
Active pallbearers were William Weber, Robert Bond, Kenneth Bond, Than Grosse, Paul Thompson and Michael Mayer
