On the 1920 census he stated that his place of birth was Rowno, Russia (which either refers to present day Rivne, Ukriane or Rowno County, Russia-Poland- also the present day Rivne area). He immigrated about 1905.
He was married to Matilda Yanke (born abt 1889 Russia- died between 1925-1930 Phila).
Samuel was a widowed machinist who lived at 4949 North 5th Street. He died of tuberculosis in the Episcopal Hospital. He was also the proprietor of a delicatessen in 1940 at the same address.
He was the father of 5 known children:
