Frederica Cook Kracht was born in
Germany, January 21, 1852, and came
to America in the spring of 1871.

She was married to Christian Kracht in
Cleveland, Ohio, April 25, 1877. Five
daughters and one son were born to
them. One , Augusta, died at the age
of eleven years.

Mr. and Mrs. Kracht came to Newell,
Iowa, in April 1878, and after a
few weeks settled on their farm in
Douglas township , Sac county , where
they have since lived, and where Mrs.
Kracht died suddenly Thursday evening,
April 25, 1912. She was converted
a number of years ago and united
with the German Methodist church
at Odebolt, of which she continued a
member until her death . She was a
devoted Christian, a faithful wife,
loving mother, good neighbor, and
true friend. She leaves to mourn her
departure her husband , four daughters,
Miss Ernestine , of Painsville ,
Ohio : Mrs. Lena Woods, of Newell,
Iowa ; Miss Sophia, of Wichita , Kansas;
Miss Anna, at home , and one
son, Charles, at home , three grand ­
sons, one brother and three sisters at
Cleveland, Ohio .
