Harold Bumgardner, 92, of Third Street, Piketon, Ohio, died 3:20 p.m. Wednesday 10 December 2014 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio.
He was born 26 September 1922 in Portsmouth, Ohio the son of the late John William Bumgardner and Myrtle Pearl (Moore) Bumgardner. On 8 December 1945 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Elizabeth (Smith) Bumgardner who preceded him in death on 11 January 2005.
Surviving are two sons, four daughters, 18 Grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren, a brother, of Bradenton Florida and two sisters.
Harold was a member of the Latham Christian Union Church and was a retired truck driver for Yellow Freight Transportation and a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army.
His parents, wife, one daughter, Beverly Campbell, a great granddaughter, Selena Blanton, two brothers, John and Roy Bumgardner and a sister Mabel Knisley preceded him in death.
Funeral Services will be held 9:30 a.m. Sunday 14 December 2014 at the HOWE WHEELER BOYER FUNERAL HOME in Piketon with Pastor Tom Pfeifer, officiating. Burial will follow in Gardner Cemetery, Waverly with military graveside by American Legion Merritt Post #142, Waverly.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 – 8 p.m. Saturday and from 8:30 until the service hour on Sunday.
