Actress. She was crowned Miss America 1959, the first Mississippian to achieve this honor. After fulfilling her duties as Miss America in 1959, she embarked on a career in both film and television. In 1963, she made her first television appearance on "Burke's Law." In a career spanning four decades, among TV shows she appeared in were "The Virginian," "Perry Mason," "Mission: Impossible," "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.," "General Hospital," "Designing Women," "Ironside," "Falcon Crest," and "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch." In films, she had roles in "Get Yourself a College Girl" in 1964, "Girl Happy," "Harum Scarum," and "Young Dillinger" all in 1965, "Three on a Couch" in 1966, and "For Singles Only" in 1968. In 1965, she was awarded the Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year - Actress. Mobley, who ended her acting career in 1994, was married to actor Gary Collins from 1967 until his death in 2012. She died after a second battle with breast cancer.
