FRANKFORT - Oct. 28 - Alvin Bell, 88, died at 2:25 p.m. today at his residence here. He was a native of Owen County and was an employee of the Union Underwear Co. here until his retirement seven years ago. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ida Lily Covington Bell; seven sons; Cecil Bell, Richmond, Wash; Theron Bell, LaGrange; William L. Bell, Fern Creek; Kaufman Bell, Heidelberg, Germany; Homer Bell, Simpsonvlle; Gayle and Elmer L. Bell, both of Frankfort; seven daughters, Mrs. Ray Offutt, Stamping Ground; Mrs. Floyd Duvall, Mrs. Ruby Yokota and Mrs. Billy Bush, all of Frankfort; Mrs. William C. Peyton, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Wilfred Bullock, Ludlow and Mrs. Virginia L. Wood, Alton, Ill; a brother John Bell, Hamilton, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Horace Wainscott, Georgetown and Mrs. Elias Glass, Knoxville, Tenn; 39 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Rogers Chapel by the Rev. Jesse Stricker. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Woodford County, Kentucky.
