Death of William T. Bell,

William T. Bell was born March 30, 1847, and at his home near Fairbanks on Thursday March 20, 1919, just at the dawn of a new day his soul took its sight from this earth and returned to the God, who gave it.

He united with the Caney Fork Baptist church when about seventeen years of age where he remained a member until about four year ago when, he brought his membership to Richmond church and was a faithful member until his death. Only a day or two before his death he said to his family, "I have traveled a long road but I'll soon be there."

He was a descendant of an old Virginia family, but was born and spent the most of his life in this community. He was married to Miss Louisa Francis Fightmaster on July 12, 1868, and to his union were born eight children, all who with his widow survive him, and all were present when death came to him. His children are as follows: Mrs. Horace Wainscott, Tom and James Bell of this place, David Bell, of Cincinnati, Alvin Bell, of La Grange, and John Bell, of Georgetown. He leaves seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren, also one sister, four brothers and a host of friend to mourn his loss. Two other children no mentioned above are, Mrs. Kirby Smith and Mrs. Eliza Glass, of Fairbanks. As it is a dark hour when the death angel hover over our home to bear away a loved one, it is an hour whose sadness cannot be dispelled save by the trust of the Almighty. A trust that carried us beyond the narrow bounds of this life and anchors our hope on another shore. His funeral was preached by Rev. J. A. Lee and his remains were laid to rest in the family burial ground near here.

His wife and children were ever near
His every wish to grant,
Relatives and friend tried their burdens to share
But fate says you can't.
Cheer on dear ones and look ______
Where pain will never come
There all is joy and peace and love
In this celestial Home.
