Alexander "Eddie" Hamilton, 88 years of age, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, December 1st, 2014 at the Lakeridge Villa in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Eddie was born in David, Kentucky on February 21st, 1926, son of the late James Porter and Della Centers Hamilton. After serving in the United States Navy in the South Pacific for three years during World War II, he graduated from Louisville School of watch making and served as a watch maker and manager for Dodd Jewelers in Cincinnati, Ohio. In the year 1951, he became an ordained minister and worked and built many Churches and pastored a Church in Wellston, Ohio. In 1954, he became the pastor of Waynesburg Church of God of Prophecy, where he built a new building on Cemetery Road.

Eddie was an accomplished builder, stone mason, brick layer and carpenter. He built and developed Hamilton Homes subdivision in Waynesburg, Kentucky and was a union brick layer for over 50 years.

Eddie was survived by his wife, Joan Crawford Elliott Hamilton; one daughter, Sharon Hamilton; four siblings, Bonnie Buckner, Carol Sue Hamilton, Kenneth R. Hamilton, and Herman Hamilton; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Porter Hamilton, who departed this life on October 19th, 1983 and Della Centers Hamilton, who departed this life on October 12th, 1985; and four siblings, James W. Hamilton, Roy Hamilton, Paul Hamilton, and Jimmy Lynn Hamilton.

Visitations were held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2014 at the New Life Church of God of Prophecy in Waynesburg, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 4th, 2014 at the New Life Church of God of Prophecy with Bro. Sam Smith officiating.

Burial followed in the Double Springs Cemetery with military honors held by the American Legion Post No#38.

The Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, Kentucky was in charge of the arrangements for Eddie.
