Jerry M. Swain 65 of Luther, OK went home to be with the Lord on April 10th, 2006. He was born in River Sioux, IA on May 17th, 1940. He was the son of Merle and Inez Swain. He graduated from Little Sioux high school in 1958. He married Dorothy Hall on September 15th, 1959. They moved to Omaha, NE, where he worked for Safeway Food Distribution Center. They raised 3 children in Omaha before moving to Luther, OK in 1982. He retired with Fleming Foods in 2002. His wife passed away in Sept. of 2003. He was married to his second wife Lajuana Jo McCormick on January 3rd, 2004. They lived in Moore until December of 2005 and moved to Luther. His wife Lajuana and his children Monty Swain of Shawnee, OK, Shawn Swain of Oklahoma City and Ginger Eidson of Bethany, OK survive Jerry. He is survived by a sister Joleen Swain of Shell Rock, IA. Nine grandchildren and 1 great grandson also survive him. Jerry led a very Christian life and talked about Jesus every chance he had to people. He loved working outside on projects at his home in Luther and spending time with his wife Lajuana. They had plans to travel and enjoy life. He was taken from us too soon. There will be a Memorial service held at Sharon Baptist Church in Moore, OK at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 15th. Published in The Oklahoman on 4/13/2006.
