Stoffel Vander Hart was born on Oct. 10, 1910, in Peoria to Gerrit and Bertha Nibbelink Vander Hart.

On Feb. 6, 1939, he married Verda Mary Weetman in Lenox. They had four children.

Stoffel farmed and painted. He was employed by Vermeer Manufacturing for 17 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Knoxville.

Stoffel, 94, of Knoxville, who died Friday, January 7, 2005 at the West Ridge Care Center in Knoxville

Vander Hart was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters and a brother as infants; two brothers: Godert and Paul Vander Hart and four sisters: Jeanette Campbell, Anna Langstraat, Helen Mitchel and Wilma Slyhuis.

He is survived by four children: Glen and Fran Vander Hart of Knoxville; Mary and Kenneth Buff of St. Charles, Mo.; Dan and Linda Vander Hart of Des Moines and Norma and Caroll Nikkel of Maxwell; one brother, Case Vander Hart of Pella; one sister, Marie Meulpolder of California; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were made by the Garden Chapel Funeral Home.
