Elizabeth ("Betsy") Buchanan was the daughter of Robert Longwell Buchanan and Emily Mariah Baker.

She married Amos Huff, son of Abram Huff and Sophia Trowl, ca 1873, locale unknown; the marriage ended between 1894 and 1900. The couple had eleven children, namely:

Rella Victoria (Huff) Hollinger (1875-1954),
Naomi Emma (Huff) [Becker] Taylor (1877-1948),
William E. Huff (1880-1931),
S. Burton Huff (February 12, 1881 - March 23, 1881),
Ora Etta (Huff) Burnett (1882-1965),
Viola Edith (Huff) Fry (1884-1974),
Guy Calvin Huff (1886-1954),
Clarence Omer Huff (1888-1972),
James Orlo Huff (1890-1952),
Harold Huff (1892-1959), and
Franklin Huff (1894-1915).

On the 1900 Census, Elkhart, Noble County, Indiana, Elizabeth Huff, 41, appeared as divorced and the head of the household; it was stated that she had borne eleven children and that ten were living; and five of her children lived with her, the youngest of whom was born in 1894.

On the 1900 Census, Orange, Noble County, Indiana, Amos Huff, 51, appeared as divorced and a boarder.

Elizabeth married Omer Huff, son of Abram Huff and Sophia Trowl and younger brother of Amos Huff, on February 26, 1902, in Elkhart County, Indiana; they were married until his death on February 15, 1912. The couple had no children together.

Elizabeth and Omer relocated to California; in 1909, they moved again to Dixon, Lee County, Illinois, where they settled. They were found in Dixon on the 1910 Census.

She married James E. Gray, son of John Gray and Mary Powell, between 1912 and 1920; they were married until his death on October 2, 1926. The couple had no children together.
