GALENA, KANSAS: Arthur L. Morton, age 71, passed away at 12:45 am, Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Quaker Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Lowell, KS following an illness.
Art was born February 16, 1943 in Riverton, KS. His parents were Chester and Nina (McKinney) Morton.
He had lived in Galena most of his life.
He graduated from Galena High School with the Class of 1961.
He entered the U S Air Force in the 1960’s and was stationed in Hawaii.
He worked for several businesses as a General Sales Manager.
He was of the Christian faith.
He enjoyed fishing, collecting and playing guitar, and working in his garage.
Surviving is one son, Andrew Morton (wife, Stephanie), Joplin, MO; three daughters, Micki Morton, Joplin, MO, Jessica Hall (husband, Steve), Galena, and Stephanie Moore (husband, Walker), Galena; one brother, Chet Morton, Quapaw, OK; one sister, Rayma Cram, Joplin, MO; and 6 grandchildren, Haley Hall, Garrett Hall, Liberty Moore, Lane Moore, Oliver Morton, and Nora Morton.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Friday, November 14, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Galena, KS. Pastor Jeff Swart and Pastor Paul Mooney will officiate.
Burial will be in Lowell Cemetery, Lowell, KS.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 pm, Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.
