Elvira G."Juanita" Ornelas, 73, died Thursday June 17, 1993 in a local hospital.

She was a resident of Corpus Christi most of her life and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Gregorio V. Ornelas in 1987.

Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Alma Ornelas of Corpus Christi; three brothers, Leo Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Placido Gonzalez of Southgate, California and Henry Gonzalez of Kingman, Arizona; three sisters, Consuelo Rodriguez and Felis Chapa both of Torrance, California and Esther Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Texas; two granchildren, Lori Ornelas of San Antonio, Texas and Michael Ornelas and wife Sebrina of San Antonio; and one great-grandchild, Elizabeth Ornelas.

Visitation will begin 9 a.m. Sunday, June 20, 1993 in the Maxwell P. Dunne Chapel. A Rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Sunday June 20.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, June 21, 1993 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
