Survivors are his wife, Dolores Rodela Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Texas; four sons: Joe (Mary Helen) Gonzalez, Jesse (Delia) Gonzalez, Juan (Janie) Gonzalez and Roberto Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Texas; two daughters: Marie Yolanda Gonzalez and Gloria Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, and grandchildren.

Other survivors include his parents Enrique and Virginia Gonzalez, his brothers and sisters: Manuela (Meme) Martinez, Antero Jackson, Refugio Gonzlez, Esther Gonzalez, Elvira Ornelas, Consuelo Rodriquez, Leopoldo, Placido and Enrique (Henry) Gonzlaez Jr., and Felictas Chapa and also by numerous nephews and nieces.
