Susanna was the daughter of Henry and Sarah (Tyson) Fout. She was born in Upper Providence Twp., Montgomery Co., Pennsylvania. In 1822 her family moved from Pennsylvania to Virginia and settled near Capon Bridge, Hampshire Co. Va.(now WV) and lived there until 1833 when her father purchased a farm at Gainesboro, Frederick Co. Susan was married twice, first on Dec.22,1841 to Michael Duffey, 1816-1843. They had two children, Sarah C. Duffy and John H. Duffey. After the death of her first husband Susan and her children lived with her parents until Mar.20,1856 when she married Henry Grove, Jr, 1805-1882. Henry was previously married to Phoebe Mercer who died in 1853. In 1880, Susan and Henry were residing in Berkeley Co. WV. with Joseph and Sarah (Duffey) Grove, Sarah being Susan's daughter by her marriage to Michael Duffey and Joseph being the son of Henry and his first wife Phoebe Mercer.
Susanna's children were;
1. Sarah Catherine "Sallie" Duffey, Oct.1842-1919 married Joseph Thomas Grove, July 24,1840-Feb.7,1918.
2. John H. Duffey, 1843-1877, never married.
3. George W. Grove, 1862-Dec.4,1916. Never married, he died at Weston State Hospital, Lewis Co. West Virginia.
It's not known where Susanna is buried.
