Henry Brouwer, son of John W. Brouwer and Aleida (Van de Vis) Brouwer, his wife. Henry was born 25 June 1913 at Barneveld in Gelderland, the Netherland. At the age of five years he came with his parents to America and lived in the vicinty of Monroe, Iowa where he grew to manhood. Mr. Brouwer met his death in an accident Thursday morning, December 18 (1947).

On December 23, 1928 he married Charlotte Wyma. To this union three children were born: John Henry age 8; Robert Lee age 5; Judith Ann age 8 months.

He leaves to mourn his wife and three children, mother and father, five brothers, Arnold at Monroe, Iowa; Allen, John, Gerrit and Wilfred at home. Three sisters: Mrs. Gertrude Willemsen of Monroe, Iowa; Mrs. Martha Willemsen of Otley, Iowa; Mrs. Henrietta VanderVelden of Monroe, Iowa. A Brother John William preceded him in death.

He was engaged in farming at the time of his sudden death. He made confession of faith in the Otley Reformed Church, later transferring his membership to the Prairie City Reformed Church.

Funeral services were held Saturday December 20, at the Prairie City Reformed Church. The Rev. Roseberg was in charge of the services. Interment was in the Oakwood Cemetery, Pella, Iowa. Pallbearers were: Willis Van Wyk, Elmo Blackledge, Floyd Wilson, Simon Van Dusseldorp jr, Lester Thomason & Matthew Mullin.
