Hazel Roberta (Reedy), Edwards, Schoonover was born in Elsberry, Lincoln County, Missouri to parents Adam "Eugene" Reedy and Odessa Knox "Dessie" McLester.

She was the second eldest child. Her parents followed her maternal grandfather Isaac Jump Reedy and wife Margaret Elizabeth (Cooper), Reedy to Washington State. Hazel is still listed in Waverly, Lincoln County Missouri on the 1910 US Census, but she and her parents and siblings must have reached Spokane County before the September 1913 birth of her brother Garner "Bud" Reedy in Spokane County. The family soon commenced to live in the close Valleyford, Mount Hope and Fairfield farming communites. They are found enumerated at the tiny Mt. Hope on the 1920 US Census. Mt. Hope is just a few miles as the crow flies from the small towns of Rockford and Fairfield.

Hazel's mother Odessa also known as "Dessie" died in Rockford 1 March 1920 of pnuemonia following childbirth and flu according to her WA. State Death Certificate. It would appear based on a comment in her brother's obituary that her widowed father moved the family to Fairfield sometime following his wife's death. While not confirmed, she likely attended Fairfield High School just as her older sister Maurine and younger brother Garner had.

She married George Anderson Edward's in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on 26 January 1926. As far as is known, please correct this contributor if mistaken, they were the parents of just two children. Reginald Darwin "Reggie" Edwards and George "Donald" Edwards. Hazel and George Edwards later divorced. Surviving grandchildren tell that many called Hazel "Bobbie" short for her middle name presumably.

On December 21, 1956 in Spokane, Washington Hazel remarried to Albert F. Schoonover. The witnesses shown on their marriage certificate were Hazel's brother Garner and his wife Edith.

Hazel's closer descendants confirmed a Yakima death and burial and a subsequent call to Terrace Heights confirmed her burial in Section 77, block 24. That section is north of Lake View Drive and east of Sunny Slope Drive.
