Maurine Bessie (Reedy), Thomas was born in Hannibal, Missouri, September 25th 1906. She was the eldest of six children. When she was four years old, the family moved to Eastern Washington, south of Spokane.

She attended grade school there and later in 1924 graduated from Fairfield High School, Fairfield, Spokane County, Washington.
She was a graduate of Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Spokane in 1931.

On June 19, 1932 she and Gilbert Casper Thomas were married and came to Portland, Oregon to live. During WWII she worked on the Staff of St. Vincent's Hospital. After that as a nurse-secretary for a private physician until 1958.

Maurine was active in the choir, in charge of charity giving to needy families, a deacon and an elder of Central Presbyterian church. Also a deacon and choir member in the Laurelhurst church, active in friendship group and fellowship group.

Burial to be in Nativity Garden - Skyline Memorial, Portland, OR.
