Mrs. John Kicher Died on Monday After Long Illness

Mrs. Mary Kicher, wife of John Kicher, of Henderson township died at 8:50 Monday morning. the cause of her death being tuberculosis and valvular heart disease with which she had been bedfast for four weeks previous to her death. For many years she had been a patient suffer with asthma, but the later complication of diseases was too great a burden for her remaining strength.

Surviving her are husband and eight children; mother, aged over 90 years; three sisters and one brother. The children are: Mrs. H.A. Trimmer of Corapollis, Milton of South Greensburg, Charles of Big Run, Mrs. E.L. McCall of Erie, Mrs. Roy Leight of this place Thomas, Frank and Elizabeth at home.

Impressive funeral services were held in the Lutheran church at Paradise on Thursday morning Rev. H.G. Oerman officiating with internment in the Lutheran cemetery nearby and a very large concourse of friends attended the funeral services. Members of the P.O.S. of A. of this place which the husband was a member were pall bearers and many other people of this place also attended.

The maiden name of the deceased was Miss Mary Trexler and was born in Paradise Feb. 14 1857 being aged 58 years 3 months and 3 days at the time of her death. She had always lived in the vicinity of her childbirth and since her marriage to John Kicher about forty years ago, has been a resident of Henderson township. The deceased had been a life long member of the Lutheran church and loved to attend its services when health permitted. Disease did not destroy the charm of a kind indulgent disposition and none ever entered her home without the warmth of genuine hospitality.
