The announcement of the death of John Kicher a resident of Henderson Township, two miles south of this place, came as a shock to his local relatives and friends Wednesday night. He had been in apparent good health up until the hour of retiring, only a short time before having helped with the evening work. He became suddenly ill about 10:16 and members of his family hearing him in his room opened his door to find him endeavoring to open a liniment bottle to use part of its contents for a pain in his side. He became so weak that he had to be assisted into bed and expired a few minutes later, or about 10:30. His death was caused by the bursting of a blood vessel.
The deceased was aged about 65 years and has resided in Henderson Township all his life. He is survived by eight grown children, his wife having died some months ago. The funeral services will be held at 9:30 Sunday morning in the Lutheran church at Paradise. Being a member of the Sykesville P.O.S. of A. Camp, that Order will likely have charge of the funeral.
