Mr. Benson was born Oct. 12, 1852, in Ohio. A cobbler by trade, he lived in Magnolia 70 years. He had been a member of the L.D.S. church for 69 years and served as deacon for 61 years.
Surviving are: three brothers, Joseph of Indianapolis, Ind., Charles of Los Angeles, Calif., and Louis Benson of Milwaukee, Wis.; and one sister, Jane, of Portland, Ore.
