Services for Merlin D. Raabe, 48, Hadar, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church here [Hadar]. The Richard B. Schliewe will officiate, with burial in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. Friday at the Home for Funerals in Norfolk.

Born January 20, 1932, in Pierce County to Mr. and Mrs. Harlen Raabe, he died Tuesday at an Omaha hospital. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hadar.

He married the former Shirley Mahnke September 1, 1963, in Beemer. He was a lifetime resident of the Hadar area.

Mr. Raabe was a past chairman of the Hadar Town Board and a volunteer fireman for the Hadar Fire Department. He was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harlen Raabe of Hadar; his wife; three sons, Terry, Tom, and Jim, all at home; one daughter, Jill at home; one brother, Norman of Hadar; and one sister, Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Oleson of Norfolk.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Marlene in 1976.
