Vera Elizabeth Crowe Porter, 93, of 440 Porter Road and widow of Loyd S. Porter, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, April 29, 2014.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Harrison and Agnes Crowe. She retired after 27 years of service at LaFrance Industries. She was a charter member of the East Clemson Christian Fellowship and maintained that membership for over 62 years.

She was a loving wife to her deceased husband Loyd, a devoted mother to her children Shelby Jean (Billy) Stamey of Pendleton, Nellie (David) Lawless of Pendleton, Lois (Eddie) Black of Central and Debra Porter of the home; as well as her children that predeceased her, Broadus Leon Porter and Barbara Sue Gibson. She is also survived by a sister, Mildred Porter of Central; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; special nephew, Larry Mayfield; and 2 special nieces, Alinda Stephens and Bonnie Porter.

In addition to her husband, parents, a son and a daughter, she was predeceased by 2 brothers, Troy and Bruce Crowe; and 2 sisters, Pauline Mayfield and Estelle Ellenburg.

Funeral services will be 3 PM, Friday at East Clemson Christian Fellowship with burial to follow in Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Thursday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central.

The family is at her home.
