Bessie Lee Moore Banks, 83, a resident of Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Inman, SC, died Tuesday, December 14, 1993.

A native of Rutherfordton, NC; daughter of Samuel Perry Moore (1876–1940) and Carrie Ballew Moore (1878–1912); wife of the late John Franklin Cartee (1887–1970).

Member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Louise Jones; brothers, Cleatus Reid Moore (1914–1998), Samuel Buford Moore (1920–2000), Boss William Moore (1921–1998), and Samuel Perry Moore (1926–2004); sisters, Cylda Virginia Moore Hames (1897–1995), Ella Ree Moore Bell (1915–1994), and Evelyn Moore Oates (1928–2011); twelve grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Also predeceased by a daughter, Mary Pauline Cartee Wilkie (1936–1989); and siblings, Matthew Anderson Moore (1893–1982), Sallie Moore Tessenier (1896–1931), Fermon Moore (1900–1901), Willie Moore (1902–1909), Jim M Moore (1903–1978), Linda B Moore (1906–1909), Joe Bunyon Moore (1908–1993), Charlie Burtis Moore (1912–1979); and half-siblings, Frank Weldon Moore (1917–1983), Kelly Junius Moore (1923–1991).

Visitation was held from 7:00 - 9:00 pm, Wednesday, December 15, 1993, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.

Services were held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 16, 1993, at the funeral chapel by Rev. Tim Hackett and Rev. Troy Baldwin; burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
