On May 12, 1968, he guarding Out Post 2 at Kham Duc, South Vietnam when his out post was overrun. His remains were recovered on June 19, 2006 and identified on December 5, 2006. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
