Odie Welch, 96, formerly of 711 Shipman, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at Sharon Elms Health Care.
Born Aug. 4, 1906, in Lake County, Tenn., to Henry and Katie Upshaw Watkins, she married LaGrande Welch in 1923 in Tennessee state. He died in 1987 in Peoria.
She also was preceded in death by two sons and five grandchildren.
Surviving are six sons, Raymond (and Betty), Melvin, Frank (and Castheda), Odie (and Vera) and William, all of Peoria, and Larry (and Navonne) of Champaign; one daughter, Claudette Riley of Peoria; and two sisters, Molly Martin of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Mattie Bell Partee of Gary, Ind.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star.
Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
