Elmer J. Bruce, 84, died Tuesday night at his residence on Woodyard Rd.
He was a retired railroad man.
A native of Greene County, he was born April 6, 1878, the son of Neal and Berniece Bruce.
Mr. Bruce was a member of Maple Grove Christian Church.
Surviving are three sons, A. L. Bruce, Indianapolis, and Clovis and Belmar [sic] Bruce, Bloomington; seven daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Dora) Cardwell, Louisville, Ky., Mrs. Herschel (Beletha) [sic] Cowden and Mrs. Paul (Ellalouise) Bolinger, Bloomington, Miss Berniece Bruce, at home, Mrs. William (Essie) Shields, Muncie, Mrs. Floyd (Bessie) Cain, Whiteland, and Mrs. Cletis (Josephine) Pelfree, Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his wife, Issis, and a son, Ray [sic].
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Greene and Harrell Funeral Home with burial in Clear Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
