Harvey Z. Hoover, 86, of Ephrata, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at home.

He was born in West Earl Township to the late Daniel and Anna (Zimmerman) Hoover and was the husband of the late Eva H. (Nolt) Hoover who passed away in 2008.

Harvey was a member and Deacon of the Conestoga Old Order Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

He is survived by 6 sons, Ira N., husband of Atta (Leid) Hoover of Himrod, NY, Floyd N., husband of Ada Mae (Rissler) Hoover of Penn Yan, NY, Elvin N., husband of Ella Mae (Zimmerman) Hoover of Ephrata, Adam N., husband of Elva (Fox) Hoover of Penn Yan, NY, Mervin N., husband of Lucy (Sensenig) Hoover of Ephrata, Vernon N., husband of Verna (Zimmerman) Hoover of Ephrata; 2 daughters, Amanda N. Hoover of Ephrata, Marian N. Hoover of Ephrata; 41 grandchildren and 76 great-grandchildren; a sister, Annie Weaver of Orrstown.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by 2 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Frank, Amos and Ivan Hoover; 2 sisters, Frances Martin and Lizzie Stover.

A viewing will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the late residence, 1725 Diamond St., Ephrata. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, September 30, at 8:30 a.m., with further services at 9:00 a.m., from the Conestoga Mennonite Church, N. Farmersville Rd., West Earl Township. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
