Earl J. Annis, 73, of 835 Merritt Ave., was pronounced dead on arrival at Mercy Medical Center Friday at 11:05 a.m.

He was born in Merrill on July 23, 1900, son of William and Lena Annis, and was married to Helen Casper in October 1926.

Mr. Annis had been employed at U.S. Motors Corp. 20 years before retiring in 1963. He served with the Navy during World War I. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Surviving are his widow; one son, Ivan Annis, Neenah; two sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Dinger, Oshkosh, and Mrs. Zoern (Nina) Hansen, Merrimac; four brothers, Clarence, Edward and Leroy Annis, Oshkosh, and Elsworth Annis, Merrill; and three grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Seefeld Church Avenue Chapel and 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. William Rickert officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church Avenue Chapel Monday from 7-9 p.m. Prayer service Monday will be at 7:30 p.m.
