Mrs. Ruth Retschlag
Services for Mrs. Ruth Retschlag, 69, of 1205 W. 29th, will be at 3;30 p.m. Monday at Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Retschlag died Friday night in a Topeka hospital where she had been readmitted May 27. Earlier she had a heart ailment.
She was born Oct. 12, 1898, at Emporia. She was a graduate of Washburn University and had taught in Highland Park schools. Later she was employed by the Kansas Assn. of Retired Teachers. She was employed during summers as a pay mistress for the Kansas State Senate for 35 years.
Mrs. Retschlag was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Her husband, Fred Retschlag, died in 1961.
Surviving are a stepson, True Retschlag of 1179 Collins; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Charles Hulac of Prairie Village; a brother, Roy Bailey of Salina; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Mortuary from 8 a.m. Sunday until 2 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Washburn University.
