Mrs. Laura I Bailey
Mrs. Laura I. Bailey, 84, died Sunday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.T. Stinson, at 1106 Randolph. She is the mother of Roy F. Bailey, state senator and publisher of the Salina Journal.
She was born January 31, 1861, at Port Clinton, Ohio, and came to Topeka from Emporia in 1917. She was a member of Central Congregational church and the Topeka chapter of the D.A.R.
Surviving are six children, Mrs. Stinson; Mrs. F.E. Matrish of Los Angeles; Mrs. W.D. Greene of Overland Park; Roy F. Bailey of Salina; W.E. Bailey of Washington, D.C.; and W.L. Bailey of Omaha; a sister, Mrs. Stella Sloan of Santa Fe, N.M.; six grand children and one great-grandchild.
The body was taken to Wall-Diffenderfer mortuary.
