In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons. Frank A. Varischetti, Steven R. Varischetti, Peter C. Varischetti, and Nicholas Varischetti, all of Brockway; three sisters, Mrs. George (Fannie) Bart, Mrs. Theresa Cilladi, and Mrs. Frank (Anita) Genevro all of Brockport; one brother, Dino Varischetti of Brockport; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his patents.
He was self-employed and the founder of many businesses. Some of the businesses include: Varischetti Construction Inc., Apple Tractor Varischetti & Sons,, Inc., Public Credit LLC, Guardian LTC Management, Inc., which owns and operates fifteen nursing facilities in Pennsylvania and Ohio, Varischetti Sanitation, Inc., which he sold to Browning-Ferris Industries, Inc. in 1986 after successfully developed and opened Greentree Landfill in Kersey. At the time of his death he had approximately 1500 employees. He served on several public and non-profit boards, as well as numerous other professional organizations and was involved in numerous church, civic and community activities. In 1999 he received Brockway's Man of the Year award. He was deeply devoted to the youth of the area and their activities. Through his efforts, several sport and recreational facilities have been constructed in the local region. He initiated and was active in several programs for the youth. In 1990 he was awarded Brockway's Sports Man of the Year. He was a graduate of Ridgway High School, Class of 1957 and was a member of St. Tobias Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and making wine.
