A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am on Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 4:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, where a rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Food Pantry or to Alleman High School.
Hyacinth Holland was born Feb. 27, 1914 in Calumet, Mich., a daughter of Paul and Anna Goulet Holland. She married William F. Price on Nov. 27, 1937 in Rock Island. He died Nov. 14, 1982.
Hy had worked as a sales clerk at the McCabe's Dept. Store, Rock Island for 32 years.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island, the Ladies Sodality of the church and the Allouez Council 658 Knight of Columbus Auxiliary. Hy enjoyed the outdoors, sports, swimming, skating, and the shores of Lake Superior.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Veronda, Moline and Mary (John) Bixby, Milan; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great great-grandson; sister, Laura Coyle, Rock Island; and brothers, William Holland of Kensington, Md. and Gerald Holland of Salem, Ore. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Marie Stimac and Patricia Woeber; and brothers, Clarence, Jerome and Paul Holland.
