Jesse A. Eamigh, 88, of Monroeville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at his home. He was born Aug. 10, 1925, in Latrobe, to Harry and Elda (Braughler) Eamigh. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for the U.S. Steel Edgar Thompson Works in Braddock. Jesse was a World War II veteran, having served in the Navy Seabees 130th Battalion in the Pacific. Besides building landing strips and other important military installations, he fought along the side of the 2nd Marine Division on the islands of Enwetok, Saipan and Okinawa. He also served 35 years in the Navy Seabees Reserve and was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the VFW of Latrobe. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary (Cowan) Eamigh; and two sons, John and Daniel. He will be sadly missed by his remaining children, Jessie Shearer, David (Sharon) Eamigh, Rebecca (John) Domin, Charles (Kathy) Baker and Matthew (Missy) Eamigh. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Charles Eamigh; and a sister, Masie Sintef. Sail on sailor, we'll be together again on heaven's shore. Goodnight Dad. Friends were received at the GENE H. CORL INC. FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike (one block east of Mosside Boulevard, Route 48), where services were held with the Rev. Denny Pyles officiating.
