James 'Jimmy' Bowman, III, 80, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, September 12, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born May 25, 1934, in Chattanooga, TN, he was the son of the late James Bowman Jr. and Pauline Williams.

A retired truck driver with McLean Trucking Company in Lyman after 27 years of service, he was a member of the Teamster Local #28, Irving Southworth Masonic Lodge #350 in Lyman, SC, Hejaz Shrine Temple, and the Mid-City Shrine Club.

In addition to his wife of 61 years, Jessie (Mayhew) Bowman, Mr. Bowman is survived by two daughters, Paula Ranson (Phil), and Brenda Morgan, both of Spartanburg; two sons, James 'Buddy' Bowman, IV, and Thomas Bowman, both of Spartanburg; seven grandchildren, Amber Martin, Michael Morgan, Chris Morgan, Heather Bowman Smith, Ashlen Thomas, Chasen Thomas, and Heath Giles; seven great-grandchildren, Lorie Bright, Halie Bright, Jacob Martin, Daniel Morgan, Makayla Morgan, Alex Morgan, and Lexus Morgan; a sister, Doris Phipps, of Morehead City, NC; two brothers, Charles Bowman (Ann), of Greensboro, NC, and Elbert Bowman (Becky), of High Point, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was 7:00-9:00 PM Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.

Flowers were accepted or memorials could be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29303.
