Mrs. Nancy Matilda Bowen, 88, formerly of Calgary and a well-known Alberta old-timer, died Friday in Vancouver.
She was born in Edwardsburg, Ont., and came to Lacombe in 1908 where she lived until 1910 when she moved to Bow Island. She came to Calgary in 1917 and lived here until three years ago when she moved to Vancouver.
She was a life member of Central United church, which she joined in 1919 and was a member of the Women's Missionary Society and the Win One Bible Class in that church.
Her husband, Guy Robert Ward Bowen, died in Calgary in April, 1936.
She is survived by two sons, Morley L., Calgary, and Wilbert G., Edmonton; one daughter, Mrs. B.F. Lundy, Vancouver; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Rev. Gordon Lapp will conduct services Monday at 2 p.m. in Park Memorial chapel. Burial will be in a Calgary cemetery.
