Bio

Passing forward the kind help of others, in locating the burial sites of our loved ones, and honoring our pioneer ancestors in Central Alberta, so that they will always be remembered.

Thank you to those who send backup with edits made!

Great sites for searching in Alberta:

ourroots.ca Some of the Alberta District family history books have been digitized and are searchable. The Alberta genweb has a list of surnames from the indexes of these books; ab.canadagenweb.org/lhb

peel.library.ualberta.ca (historic newspapers)

Also: ourfutureourpast The Early Alberta Newspaper Collection is in the public domain. Although these newspapers are not pdf and searchable, they are well worth the effort when looking for births, marriages, deaths and other local news.

Calgary newspapers to 1987
https://news.google.ca/newspapers#C

Also, Alberta Provincial Archive Indexes here:
