Samuel Lewis Sanders, 71, of Myrtle Beach, died Saturday, September 13, 2014, in Grand Strand Regional Hospital.

Mr. Sanders was born August 2, 1943, in Summerville, SC, a son of the late Rev. Alton Waring Sanders and Margret Riley Sanders.

He was a veteran of the US Army.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Alton Waring Sanders, Jr., and Charles Willis Sanders.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Sanders; a son, Robert Sanders and wife Jerri of Lakeview; two daughters, Karen Dudley and husband Ron, of Marion, and Jenell Godfree and husband Eric of Georgia; two stepsons, Tony Todd and wife Kim and Greg Todd and wife Judy, both of Myrtle Beach; a stepdaughter, Candy Kovarsky of Myrtle Beach; a brother Richard Sanders and wife Margaret of Andrews; two sisters, Martha Moree of Andrews, SC, and Rebecca Mercer of Sumter SC; eleven grandchildren, Brittany, Brandy, Zack, Ashley, Jordan, Brooke, Jacob, Anthony, Kalli, Preston, and Kenzie; and two great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2014, in Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel. The family will accept guests following the service.
