In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Lewis Sanders, her first husband Herbert J. Todd, her brothers George W. Macklen and Melton G. Macklen, her sisters Sybil Haselden, Joy M. Morris, Alice Faye Ward and Shirley Ann Phillips.
In life, Carol’s passion was caring for her children and grandchildren. During her career, she was the owner and operator of both the Candyland Day Care and Kids R Us Day Care. She was also a member of the Socastee United Methodist Church.
Carol is survived by a large and loving family, including her devoted sons Tony Todd (Kim) and Greg Todd (Judy), her dear daughter Candy Kovarsky, brother Everette Clifton Macklen and sister Trudie Lazelle Singleton, all of Myrtle Beach. She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren Anthony, Kalli, Preston and Kenzie and great-grandchildren Payton and Aspen, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A visitation with family and friends will be held on Sunday, February 9 from 6 - 8 PM at Burroughs Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet. A funeral service to honor Carol will be held on Monday, February 10 at Socastee United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Kurt McPherson officiating. Interment will follow the service at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made in Carol’s honor to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
