"Ollie J. Taylor, 82, of Apple Creek, died June 23. He was born in Mayfield. Ky., May 23, 1902, and moved to the Akron community over 60 years ago. He worked for the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. 42 years, retiring in 1967. He was a member of the Sparkling Seniors of Temple Baptist Church, and served in the navy and the army during World War I. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Fern Taylor; sons and daughters-in-law... sisters, Mrs. Ebbie Cochran and Mrs. Mary Coplen, both of Kentucky; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services Wednesday, 1 p.m., at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (Rt. 619), Pastor Glenn E. Rogers officiating. Interment East liberty Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m."
