Margaret married when she was 17, in Clarno Green, Wisconsin in 1839, Jan 27 to First husband Simeon Brooks Forbes, they lived on a farm and sold a good deal of produce, milk, butter and cream. Her husband enlisted in the Civil War, and was later given an invalid's dismissal. So he joined another unit 2 months later. He died of wounds or illness contracted in the war in 1862. They had been married 23 years, and she was carrying another baby. In 1865, the Widow Forbes married Mr. Wamsley and they had a son named John. Mr. Wamsley died after they had been married 11 years. In 1878, the 57 year old Widow Wamsley married a Mr. Callendar. They were married 8 years before he also preceded her in death. Margaret Wells Forbes Wamsley Callendar, ever the survivor, lived until 1910 when she passed away at the age of 89.
