Following injuries sustained in a fall from a chair at his home on West Main street about two weeks ago Oscar Rettle, 36 years old, a coal miner, died Friday night at St. Elizabeth's Hospital.
The accident which caused his death broke his leg and he was removed to the hospital for treatment. Gangrene poisoning set in and his death resulted.
Mr. Rettle was born in Belleville June 22, 1880, the son of Anton and Anna Rettle.
He was unmarried and is survived by two sisters and two brothers;

Frank Rettle, Belleville
He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, Local No. 304, and a Good Samaritan. The funeral will be held from the residence Monday at 2 p.m. Interment will be made at Walnut Hill cemetery.
