Services for Betty Monroe, 63, of Hammond and formerly of Valparaiso, who died Monday, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bartholomew Funeral Home; burial Graceland Cemetery; visitation 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
She was born Nov. 21, 1919 in Chicago, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. A. O. Dobbins, and married Ermal Monroe who died in 1964.
She is survived by a son, Marlin of Calumet City; two daughters, Linda Ghidotti of Highland and Vicki Smith of Hammond; and six grandchildren.
